So, how are you spending your Friday?

Speaking for myself the place is a bit empty today, providing me with an opportunity to deal with some less than amusing paperwork, while listening to music (Dixie Chicks, at the moment) without disturbing anyone. In the mean time the Chili plants are growing like crazy in the window, now that a certain yellow star is on its best behaviour outside (i.e. showing itself). The vacation is over, after all

A little after the fact - OK 5 days after - but I took off Friday, Monday, and Tuesday to have a long birthday weekend (turned 49 on Saturday). I spent the majority of the time in my home studio recording a new funk album. That was fun.

    Back at work today. (sigh)

    Good-looking peppers, Claes.

Hmmm, today is Friday for me.
Driving up to Maine for some boat time and lobsters...

Why do "Fridays" go so slow...

    Well, it's Friday again...

I have spent it fighting IT issues and reading the 9001 FDIS, which is a rather dreary, though rewarding way to spend a day. Time too go home soon. What about the rest of you?

I've been executing software validation protocols. Well, trying to. Actually it's more taking notes so it can be revised to a suitable level where I can execute it properly.

Finishing up an epic Supplier Self Survey today (12 tab excel spreadsheet), and a meeting later about some new software we're beta testing for a local startup.
Looking forward to adding insulation to the attic at home this weekend. Always a fun task. o_O
Playing Saturday evening with my acoustic group Happy Little Trees.

Twelve?! I suppose that topic warrants a thread of its own, but I do wonder what use a customer could possibly have for a twelve tab survey result. It's not like I imagine anyone going through everything in all those tabs. A much more likely scenario is that this someone ticks you off on a list as having returned the survey, and then chucks the whole thing into some folder where it remains untouched until the end of the retention time. Honestly, twelve tabs.... which qualifies as pure muda.

Sun here is partially obscured by smoke from wildfires in northern California, some 725 miles west of us.

Those fires made the news even over here, so I suppose they must be pretty bad?

This brings to mind a previous thread on why customers refuse to fill out supplier surveys...and how your Approved Vendor process might want to NOT require them...

    Well, it's Friday again...

I have spent it by doing a couple of translations, which I rather enjoy, and preparing for Audits and Management Review, which is somewhat less exiting. Time too go home soon. What about the rest of you?

Hoping for a relatively quiet Friday. Been a super busy week here. Three day weekend here in the States. Probably spend most of it outside sweating off some pounds (supposed to be in the mid-90s all weekend). Lots of grass to mow, about a dozen trees that could benefit from trimming, and possibly get the brush hog out in pasture.

Also, going to a local winery with The Hottie to celebrate our two-year anniversary (which was actually this past Tuesday). It's where we got married.

It's quiet at work today since many people took off or are leaving early to start the holiday weekend. I need to bleach the basement after the septic tank backed up, that was fun. Hubby plans on working on the plow truck. The rest of the time, we plan on hanging at the pool.

Ready for some much needed time away from the plant! Lots of sewing to do this weekend, need to sew a soccer quilt I'm donating as a fundraiser, homecoming skirt, and working on a quilt for which I'm actually getting paid. Hubby is going to work on his Bronco to get it off the rotisserie so the Falcon can go on it. Really just looking forward to some non-stressful time off! :)
