    Dear colleagues,

    I am considering starting a service of writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for medical laboratories and selling them online. I already started a web-store where I offer several SOPs. The SOPs will be in MS Word format and priced at about $5-10. My question is whether there is a market for such a service? Would any of you consider buying these documents?

    Thank you

    Alex

    Honestly, I, for one, refrain from buying "canned" documented manuals or procedures. I've been to companies who started from scratch in building the QMS relevant documents and we just created our own template, format and style depending on what we have agreed to adopt - whichever is comfortable for us to use. In documenting a QMS, I always bear this in mind:

    Introduction
    0.1 General

    It is not the intent of this International Standard to imply the need for:
    — uniformity in the structure of different quality management systems;
    — alignment of documentation to the clause structure of this International Standard;
    — the use of the specific terminology of this International Standard within the organization.

    But, that's just me. Others may find value on buying SOPs on web-stores. Good luck.
