    Hi everybody

Into de ISO 9001 2008, regarding the numbering of formats, what practice
you follow, what is practical and simple.

    e.g.
In complaints when I receive complants, I assign a code like this:
    Comp-17-001, comp-17-002,etc. comp = complaint, 17= the year, 001, he consecutive
    For Corrective actions:
    CA-17-001, CA-17-002,etc.
But recently I noticed that I have a lot of corrective actions, and I saw
that there are too much, because when a nonconformity occurs, it is documented
in one format named Corrective action report (CAR) but into this report are documented
actions when is done a full analysis (to find root cause) and also used when is made
a simple correction (no root cause analysis).
Would it be recommended to manage the actions in separated formats?
and to have CA-17-001 (for actions that require full analysis), and CORR-17-001
this last one, where only a correction is made?.
This way, easily can be seen which are Full analysis y corrections.

What is your point of view in this point?
    PD
for full analysis an effectiveness is checked, while
for corrections, just is verified that was done.

    Thanks

Whatever works best for your system. Your proposal seems like a reasonable idea, but it may be a bit complicated for other companies. Everyone logs these differently. We use a simple spreadsheet that follows the complaint from the time it is made through any follow up, and in the end is reported in the Management review report. Just separate folders for each customer and a tracking spreadsheet for us. Numbering is not as important as we count items for each customer for the final reports.

Thanks. but in the nonconformities found what % is for correction and what % is corrective action?
and do you use the same format to document (records) both cases?

    Thanks
