We are an assembler of PCBs. We are currently ISO registered but are in the process of reviewing our system to see what changes to make to become AS9100 registered.

We had a lengthy discussion on the issue of calibration of back up tools (we have 2 tools for measuring the hole sizes and dimensions of laser-drilled parts) as well as the maintenance of back up equipment (like our back up compressor).

Would do these things as part of building towards AS9100 (from ISO which we now are)

    Thanks!

Welcome! There should be no real change from ISO 9001 to AS9100, with the exception of what it tells you in AS9100 in the bold text. There's lots of notes but that's guidance. As far as I know from being SQA on pcbs, calibration of hole gauge isn't really necessary - simply check them (verify) with a micrometer.
