Hi, I am new to the forum and the automotive PPAP process. I was hoping that you could help me with a question. Our customer wants us to submit element 9 in AIAG format. Is there a specific layout or can the format be a standard Polyworks CMM data report. I see that in appendix C, in the PPAP 4th edition there is a sample format, but is that just a suggestion format. I don't see anything that specifically call out the format. I am guessing that the requirements are balloon drawing with a report that has part number, revision, nominals, tolerance and results will be sufficient.

Based on what the AIAG PPAP manual states, you can use the Appendix C, a pictorial, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) sheet or a checked print where the results are legibly written on a part drawing including cross-sections, tracings or sketches. As for us, we always use the Appendix C as it is already available and easy to use/decipher.
