Would like to check if any pre-determine data collection period is required for newly setup company to get audited/certified.

I have been through one certification to ISO9001:2008 & ISO14001:2004 and following the stage 1 audit, we needed to collect 3 months' data before the stage 2 audit. I am now working for a company that is looking to gain certification to ISO9001:2015 and again the certification body plans show 3 months' between the stage 1 and stage 2 audits.

If my memory serves me correct, "Guide 62 - General requirements for bodies operating assessment and certification/registration of quality systems", sets the minimum period for pre-certification data collection at 3 months. However, I have negotiated with Registrars (CB's) a time frame of 2 months for smaller clients (under 25 employees) with the stage 1 audit after 2 months and stage 2 two weeks later. I usually negotiate (on behalf of my clients) with several Registrars up-front and see who provides the best cost and most flexibility.
