5S Master Plan

    Hi;
    Can someone share a 5S master plan in your area? I would like to benchmark what's the a good time line for this program.

    Hi, maltese008.

    There really is no master plan for 5S. Timelines and activities are dependent upon variables such as:

    • Industry/Service of organization
    • Number of people
    • Available resources
    • Leadership commitment
    • Training
    • ...and so on...

    Not to mention, 5S is an ongoing activity...there is no defined start/stop for it. Technically, when it becomes part of the organization's routine, it's no longer an improvement project or initiative, but it's not the sort of thing where an organization says, "Let's start on January 1 and be done by December 31."
