Re-integration of a previously "Disapproved" supplier

    Good Morning all,

    Just a quick hypothetical that I may utilise in the event of future occurrence, would there be anything inherently wrong with the following scenario?

    A companies supplier has been found to have unsatisfactory performance, doesn't adhere to the customers/their requirements and thus, is stricken from the companies approved supplier list.

    A period of time down the line, the organisation is unable to source another supplier for the same product that the now stricken supplier previously provided.

    Would it be possible to re-evaluate the 'disapproved' supplier with tightened controls for a period of time or request evidence of improvement to re-integrate them as a 'approved supplier'?

    As long as you have a consistent process and can rationally justify through objective evidence why you can add them back, you should be okay.

    Yes, indeed. With additional controls and/or requirements in place, why not?
