    Dear Quality experts,
Recently I was informed about the new amendment ISO 9001:2015. during a management review meeting it was determined that Climate change is not relevant issue for us.
My question if this decision has to be documented? and How did you approach this requirement?

Thank you in advance for your time in answering this post.

Is this an official update to the standard? If yes, when did it go into effect?

It was published in February this year. I downloaded at no cost from the ISO official site https://www.iso.org/standard/88431.html

A simple answer is "How did you address the section 4 "Context of the Organization" before climate change was added?

Annex A.6 of ISO 9001:2015 provided this clarification:

Where this International Standard refers to “information” rather than “documented information” (e.g. in 4.1: “The organization shall monitor and review the information about these external and internal issues”), there is no requirement that this information is to be documented. In such situations, the organization can decide whether or not it is necessary or appropriate to maintain documented information.
This will still apply even the requirement for "determining whether climate change is a relevant issue" is added into Clause 4.1 of the standard

Thanks for your reply. Reading your post is getting more and more obvious. In my case, Sect. 4 was addressed, documenting the factors that may affect our ability to satisfy our customers as well as factors that may adversely affect the stability of our process. Also, identify and recognize the needs and expectations of interested parties.

However, section 4.1 there is a requirement for "considering" changes in internal and external issues that are relevant to the quality management system. Also section 9.3.2b there is not requirement for a record, just "taking into consideration".

The fact that this new requirement was discussed during a management review meeting makes us believe that we complied with the new requirement. Any thoughts

    Once again Thank you.

Fabulous! That's exactly how I'd be doing it. To head off any auditor questions, adding a reference to an authoritative source of information would be useful...
