He didn't explain enough! He didn't explain that you MIGHT decide that it's needed to suit external parties interests. He didn't explain some might have a GOOD manual. He didn't explain some MIGHT have decided to ditch their "Just like ISO" manual and get a real one which people can use!

None of our internal or external parties are interested in our Quality Manual except the auditor. Our process interaction which was embedded in the manual, was scrutinized during the upgrade audit. The risk of having a quality manual is for the auditor to fabricate their own rules outside the requirements of the standard.

Since members in this forum would choose to be discreet, can I request a private message from you to name the CB? So I'll be careful to engage them in future certification endeavors.

so bottom line, it would be safe to have a copy of QMS manual based on ISO 9001:2015. Although it is not really required, but having it is mere advantage for references ie - client, interested parties, training purposes, communication purposes etc...

No, and yes. Having a quality manual which emulates the ISO 9001 requirements is, frankly, useless. However, "interested parties" and your own org. may like having a (useful) quality manual. The question is, what does that look like?

I am putting together a Business manual that references documents required by the standard(s), and follows the clauses of Iso 9001:2015 & Iso 14001:2015. The reason I am doing this is because our sales team requires it for tenders. Plus it gives the customer a brief history of the company and demonstrates our quality & environmental commitment.

I am on my 6th year working with ISO 9001. For that transition ( 2008 > 2015 ) I am writing my Quality Manual with comments and explanations. Like on 4.4.1-a) , i wrote "Determined the inputs and outputs from these process, sumarized on attachment 3"

The Quality manual is not required, but is a good guide for a new person to know how your system works
