Trying to determine how far to drill down for a manufacturing process audit when creating an internal audit schedule. For example, we have two different lines that both fall under "assembly", but those lines produce different products. Do we need to conduct a manufacturing process audit for each assembly line even though they both fall under the assembly process? The assemblies may be assembled via installation of fasteners, resistance welding, or robotic welding, etc. Does each method (fastener, welding, etc) of assembly need to be listed as its own process from a manufacturing process audit standpoint or am I overthinking this?
