Well, it was not me. But I came close. I almost bought a ticket. So, what are your thoughts on PowerBall. Good, bad, indifferent? What would you do with the money, had you been a winner?

As for me, I would buy a Pepsi bottler, so I won't have to buy my Pepsi anymore... and maybe a Harley Dealership. And a new fly rod... yes, that's it a new fly rod... and what about......

    0.5 Billion dollar Powerball winner.
1.0 Billion dollars for Uncle Sam.
Still...500M is nothing to sneeze at, but it's got to stick in your craw...

... a landscaping/lawnmowing service (the service, not the company)...
...Jeans without holes in them...where do they come from so fast?
    ...a nap...Then I'd start thinking straighter...

It is hard to even imagine that much money. If I took $1 out of my pocket and handed it to you, every second of every day, it would take you 2800 years to accumulate that total.

Being a billionaire was out of my imagination!!! But I ventured to buy this ticket-for the first tine. I won $ 4.00 enough to entice me to invest in lotto the next time.

The only real winner is the government. I only tossed in $5 in the office pool, (better odds with more tickets), and then it was $5 that was either there or the snack machine...

I figure if I had won, after giving to all our select charities and a few investments, I would probably have about $10M left... wife and I can live on that.

I was wondering at the comment from the winner from Tennessee who netted $528 Mil (I think it was) who won't give up their jobs... Have people no ambition?

    Not sure what you mean...
Some consider working a job to be ambition.
Others may consider using the $$ as seed money to start their own thing.
SOme see opportunity to do something other than work...but some like to work and are considered ambitious.

What facet were you referring to (need not be one of the above).

I wouldn't give up my job if I won, instead I would feel more empowered to perform it better, since the threats of layoffs and backlash would no longer concern me.

Likewise I will never give up my job. I will not publicize myself as a winner. I will be the resource (not as a SME because the super moderators are doing excellent job) to help those who need help in this forum.

Does that include interest? I saw someplace that the interest ALONE was $17,000 a DAY...

no, interest over 2800 years is an out of scope variable, as would be the currency!
Just trying to create some sort of "vision" of that quantity.
There must be a certain "envisionable quantity" the human mind can manage, and beyond that is a kind of "infinity" which is really "unthinkable".
