    To whoever takes the time to read this,

    I would just like to air this out.

    Nadcap Heat Treat Task Group has been sharing Materials Testing Laboratory checklists, AC7101/3 and AC7101/4, for more than a decade now.

    Since when are auditors allowed to issue findings against AC7101/1!?

    Their Memoranda of Understanding clearly states that HTTG will audit against AC7101/3 and AC7101/4 while MTL will audit against AC7101/3, AC7101/4 and AC7101/1.

    I have had some success with appealing to the staff engineer. I also think I wound an auditor up by arguing an “NCR” in my lab and caused a lot of trouble for my company as a whole.
    So my new approach to NADCAP is nod, smile and then appeal NCRs you don’t think are valid.

    NADCAP isn't like AS91XX Certification. There is no "oversight" by a body like the IAQG or ANAB etc. They are a law unto themselves...
