Document control for legal documents

    How does one control a template that has been drafted by a lawyer (e.g. subcontractor agreements)?
    It has the basic blank fields for inputting required information such and names and dates, but the overall template content cannot be edited in case it affects the integrity and legitimacy of the document.
    We have created a document ID and logged it into our document Control register so we can track it. Do we just review it periodically without changes?

    Do you have a process for document control? Since this is posted in the ISO 9001 forum, is your question in relation to meeting ISO 9001?
    I have never found periodic review to be useful. If you do internal audits, that should check on the implementation of such controls.
