    Job Description - Quality Inspector/CMM Programmer

    Mac Machine is one of the premier state of the art CNC machine shops in Baltimore, Maryland. We have been producing Medical, Aerospace, Space and Defense products for almost 40 years. Mac Machine is a modern, climate controlled facility that is experiencing tremendous growth and is AS9100D/ISO9001:2015 certified.
    We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is currently in the Quality Inspection field of Aerospace manufactured components. This will be a position as a Quality Inspector/CMM Programmer with an hourly pay rate of $26-$32, based on experience. The schedule will be Monday through Friday 6:00am to 3:30pm, with occasional weekends.

    Summary
    Responsible for the operation, inspection and programming of the CMM, training others to use the CMM for production runs, the analysis and interpretation of blueprints, manuals and other materials to determine specifications, to inspect and test procedures, and to communicate technical information.

    Duties:
    • Operate CMM machines and maintain CMM work instructions for the set-up and inspection of parts.
    • Perform all programming of the CMM machines using ZEISS software from Model Based Definition and 2D drawing.
    • Analyze and interpret blueprints, models, evaluation sheets, manuals and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment and certification methods.
    • Collect and analyze inspection data and make computations as necessary to determine inspection results and perform first article inspections.
    • Communicate information to others about inspection results, part status, updates, specific instructions, etc. and participate in PFMEA activities.
    • Determines product suitability for shipment for company and customer
    • Work closely with Engineering on related issues, including MSA, Gage R-N-R, and statistical studies
    • Plan and work as a key member of the production team to ensure high quality product and on time delivery.
    • Provide support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, companywide.
    • Other duties, reporting, special assignments or projects as needed and assigned
    Requirements
    • Ability to read and understand complex mechanical drawings and 3D Models
    • Functional understanding of GD&T, and Math (including Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry)
    • Skilled in use of inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, surface gauges, height gages
    • CMM programming experience (Calypso software is preferred, but not required)
    • Computer Literate: Windows, Excel, Word and familiar with an ERP software
    • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
    • 2 years manufacturing inspection experience
    • Must be able to work with minimum supervision
    Education, Certifications and Experience:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
