When SDS refers to : Store locked up. that means the chemical must be in secure place or its mandatory to have it under Lock and key .
    Thank you

If it says "secure" then that can be achieved by more than "lock and key". No "standard" is going to prescribe a specific item such as a lock with a key because there may be many, many more methods to make it secure. It's your choice how you make something secure.

    Hello Again
@John C. Abnet we had an audit and the auditor raised an observation regarding an Oil Barrel which was stored and bunded within the permisses and when she checked the SDS file she found it was mentioning STORE LOCKED UP . my thoughts was same as @Andy Nichols but anyways wants to be sure for this time and future .
    Thank you

If a Safety Data sheet says "locked up" then that's what it means. This is posted in ISO 14001 forum - which is environmental.

As @Andy Nichols says---although I've never seen an SDS that indicated specifically "Store Locked Up" , then that is the requirement. (also, if the manufacturer/SDS put such detail, then for SAFETY'S SAKE why wouldn't your organization want to "Store Locked Up" ??

We keep acids and bases on separate shelves with spill trays, good labeling, and updated SDS printed and on hand. Flammable stuff goes in a vented metal cabinet away from ignition sources.

Yep, “Store locked up” on an SDS means exactly that—it should be kept under lock and key, not just on a high shelf or in a random cabinet. It's usually required for toxic, corrosive, or otherwise dangerous substances to prevent unauthorized access or accidents. Especially important if others share the space or if there are kids around.

Also a good reminder to invest in proper linked removed —like lockable storage cabinets, labeled containers, and safety data sheets easily accessible nearby. A little caution goes a long way in keeping everyone safe.
