3rd party audits and Covid-19

    Has anyone undergone a recent 3rd party IATF audit since starting production back up after being shutdown due to Covid-19?

    If yes, were there any processes or subject matters that the auditors focused on more due to the virus?

    If no, does anyone have any thoughts on some processes or subject matter that may have an increased focus due to the virus?

    We had our environmental audit last month and the only thing the auditor asked about was if there was a change to our policies regarding receiving visitor's. (Anything required beyond the normal PPE, masks for example)

    Your contingency plan, possibly and just risk analysis in general....review of SWOT analysis, if you have one. (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities & Threats) Also, you may want to look at any emergency preparedness and response procedures, as well as safety guidelines.

    I have seen an interest in shutdown/startup plans to ensure that your processes after startup are the same as before shutdown. If I were the auditor, I would be investigating your shelf life processes, if applicable.

    As far as I can tell, there have been very few IATF audits. The IAOB isn't signing up for remote/virtual audits (unlike ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & AS9100D which may be done that way) and as a result, many audit dates are being delayed up to 90 days.     Some may not be able to undergo an audit due to a number of logistical reasons.

    The only real issue an audit might be able to consider is the start up and process validation after shutdown. There was some discussion I saw about any PPE etc being required as a "safety issue", but that isn't product related PPE like for protection from sharp edges on stampings, paint protection etc. it's health and safety and has no place being audited by an IATF auditor.
