    Hi all,

it is not a real technical question but I would like to know what you guys are doing...

Test specimens coming from forgings, casting, bars....for all type of testing (tensile, impact...): How do you manage the coding and the lifecycle in your ERP system???

Do you have a code for the machined specimen and also for the raw part? Sort of Specimen BOM on two levels or flat? How do you manage the material source? How do provide traceability in the database??? Need to evaluate a better management yet, no idea what to do...

    Thanks!!!!!!

Navigating the management of test specimens in the ERP system can indeed be a complex task.
One approach worth considering is implementing a cloud-based ERP solution, as discussed on. These systems offer numerous benefits, including enhanced flexibility, scalability, and accessibility, which can greatly streamline the coding and lifecycle management of test specimens.
With a cloud-based ERP system, you can establish a structured approach to managing both machined specimens and raw parts, potentially through a Specimen BOM with multiple levels.
