Would is be good to have an MSA kit created per say that has 10 master gages similar to circle, diamond, square artifacts that were the same physically, but the characteristic dimensions were all slightly different? This would establish 10 serialized artifacts that have NIST traceable master data that could be used to facilitate MSAs. The artifacts could have surface profile, true hole position, linear dimensions, steps and gaps, hole diameter, centricity etc. Would this be too much or is this worth pursuing?

    Richard, welcome:
I’m tempted to suggest that if it was appropriate, someone would have produced them. If I understand correctly, part of the reason for the study is to evaluate the actual part features as produced, with their inherent issues, not using “lab samples”.
