I have a question. How often should I do a product audit according to the VDA 6.5 standard? Thank you for answer.

I dont believe there is a frequency . But you obviously have an audit schedule where you factor in a mix of 6.3 and 6.5 . Risk based thinking and assessment should be carried out and a product audit is very detailed and specific so it wont suit every customer concern . I would focus the the 6.5 audits on problematic programs and a minimum of 2 a year .

Hence my clarifying question to the OP...

You are correct. Typically, product audits should focus on (poor) performance-related issues. I wouldn't, however, dictate a calendar-based frequency. As with other types of (QMS) audits, they are required to be planned, not scheduled to a calendar. Results from processes, customer feedback, warranty etc should be the "triggers", with changes (improvements) indicating if follow-up events are necessary.
