    As with all new sites, it is important that we swell the ranks in order to reach the "critical mass" necessary to make the discussions gain momentum. We all know people who would like and benefit from this place, and I suggest that we try to reel them in using the "every member gets a member" gimmick".

    Obviously, there are also other ways to attract people. Suggestions?

    Indeed! I've linked a few groups on LI and Tweeted a few people. I have to be careful, since I would rather avoid attracting unwanted attention, but if anyone else would care to post on LI...

    I've been reaching out too, but selectively. There are a couple of old Covers who seem more comfortable going elsewhere.

    I know Andy posted about this on a LinkedIn forum. That is how I found this. I have already sent out a couple emails. I will also be brining it out in my internal auditor classes as a way for auditors to develop professionally.

    I, too, have been reaching out selectively, mostly via emails and private messages to present and former colleagues. Still a bit leery about casting a wide net at this point.

    Your "gimmick" reminds me of those old shampoo commercials from the '80s, Claes. "I'll tell two friends, and they'll tell two friends, and so on, and so on,..."

    My point, exactly: If we all do that, we will grow like crazy, because the need for a place like this is just as great as ever. My next move will be to tickle a few colleagues who were not part of the old place. :D

    Getting the word out for sure. I have received a lot of helpful insight from a lot of you and others throughout the years on the Cove and I hope I either have or can return that to you and others. Let's get the word out and make this a great resource for Quality!

    What is the social media policy for looking for new members (aka poaching) from another forum?

    There is another forum that was started up by a former Cove member called qualityrecord.com. I don't know who started it and they only list themselves as "admin". The intent of that site of course is very much the same.

    I joined that forum first because it was available sooner than this site. They use MyBB forum software and the formatting is... well, different.

    That's an interesting question. I don't think of it as poaching but I do have my own web site and will be sending attachments here that also are linked there. I have seen the other site and am not sure about the membership - I do not know which of the Covers I knew were signed up there.

    I suspect each will find its niche and there's room for the both of us if we each provide adequate value.

    I, for one have been suggesting the site to people I know and some who pop up and voice their regrets in the LI "End of Elsmar" threads.

    You are free to join whatever forums you want - however, as we know happened with the ASQ example, more came to the Cove... Since no one person is going to be ranting and raving over their particular biases, I believe THIS forum is more likely to be the most successful, for example.

    Clearly a relevant question (I had not seen the other place, and I have no idea about who is running it), but personally I see nothing wrong with being part of several forums. It's not as if you have to transfer from one team to the other as with sport teams.
