    Personally, I've found much of this group's advice to be for external auditors than internal auditors...

    True, but the information gives a great insight into 'their way of thinking' that could benefit internal auditors and the like.

    I wont lie...I take the way external auditor's think and work into consideration when training internal auditors. They aren't mirror-images...in fact, I like to think of them as the next evolution (i.e. improved version) of auditors. Their purpose is to assess conformance to the requirements of the applicable standard/system AND add value. ;)

    To me it's trying to get product designers to think like QC people... Sure, when product designs are drawn up, they should be capable of being manufactured and inspected/tested, but not to the exclusion of meeting the original design intent...
