    Hi, Ivy...

Can you please share more with us? We can't really help without understanding what's in the warehouse (e.g., finished goods only, or a combination of inventory to make finished and the actual finished goods), environmental requirements, etc.

The very first thing that comes to mind, however, is FIFO (First In First Out)...this way, the oldest materials get used/shipped first (where appropriate).

Hi Ivy. Along with RCB's questions, I'm going to ask, how do you know it needs improving? How do you know procedures etc are going to improve anything?

    Hello there,
What is wrong with your current warehouse management? Perhaps you may want to start with the current condition and what you need to change.

    Hello,

We use the handheld terminal for FIFO in the finished product warehouse. Normally, in order for the product to be taken in accordance with FIFO, the system should not give any product other than the oldest product, the operator should not be able to take products other than that product. But this is not the case with us because the finished product cases are lined up due to the physical conditions of the warehouse. and it is very difficult for the operator to find the oldest. and for example we have 10 boxes of different lots from the same product and we want to send them all at the same time. the system definitely requires us to read from oldest to newest, but this is not possible due to physical conditions. so we removed this restriction in the system. How can we explain this in accordance with FIFO to the auditor?

You can do what you want, since FIFO isn't a requirement (unless the customer or a product regulation states it is). You don't have to explain anything to the auditor, but can tell them your management thought FIFO was required but it's not practical.

Try switching over to another WMS - with over 30 years of experience in the field.
