    Hi,

Currently, our company is recording each individual component's details (including component date code, PO no., etc) to PCA BOM, so that we have traceability if there is any issue with that board. This is quite time consuming to record all those information by manual. Unfortunately, we do not use any barcode system. I am wondering what other companies do.

Appreciate if you can share any.

I am (fortunately) not in that position where i am recording that amount of information, however if i WAS, then i would definitely be using a barcode and scanner system. Manual recording has a high potential of error, as well as consuming a lot of time.
