In my organization we manufacture up to 120 different kinds of products. Our processes are cutting, welding, hot dip galvanizing. A lot of times we receive orders for one piece of product "x", one piece of product "y", etc. So we could be sending a very mixed quantity of products in one shipment.

Is it wrong to only have records of release for only some products (normally the most important in terms of quantity)?

Of course, we have controls in place for the manufacture of those products wich are not in the release record.

It's risky. If some unrecorded products were inadvertently delivered to a customer together with the recorded ones. How will you know or your delivery people that they dropped some products to some customers which are not intended for them?

Thank you Andy and Tony. We'll change our release process. There should be evidence of release of all the items included in one shipment.
