Our auditor stated that we needed to have at least one person formally trained to the IATF 16949 Lead Auditor training with Core Tools. Suggestions for companies to use for this training?

I am in the Metro-Detroit area but online training would be fine too. Please comment.

Good news, Marty! My organization can provide that and there's a cost benefit to doing it in the way of grant funding!

Now, your auditor is totally off base with what they say and you don't NEED lead auditor training. You need internal auditors who are competent to do the job, in accordance with IATF 16949 requirements, including the fabled "Automotive Process Approach" (whatever THAT is), core tools, customer specifics etc. Attending a course is good - but the lead auditor course is - experience shows - 2 days and $$$ more than actually needed.
