    Hi all,

I recently got promoted to Quality Manager and whilst reviewing an audit checklist for Goods Inwards Audit, I found a reference to ISO 9001:2008 Clause 7.4.1, Supplier Control.

My organisation is currently certified for ISO 9001:2015 and I can't find an ISO 9001:2008 PDF.

Does anyone know where or how "ISO 9001:2008 Clause 7.4.1, Supplier Control" is translated into ISO 9001:2015?

My best estimate is 9001:2015 Clause 8.4.2 Type and extent of control. Would anyone agree?

    Hello, Ali.

There is no ISO 9001:2018 - the most recent release is ISO 9001:2015. Presuming you mean the 2015 version, based on the title of your thread?

Hi RoxaneB, I just realised that error, it was supposed to say ISO 9001:2015. I have changed it so that future viewers will know what I mean. Do you have any ideas where or how "ISO 9001:2008 Clause 7.4.1, Supplier Control" is translated into ISO 9001:2015?

Don't you have a copy of ISO 9001:2015? Isn't it best to read what it says instead of asking for a "translation" (especially from other parts of the world)

I have a copy of the ISO 9001:2015 which I've read. What I'm asking is, where is "ISO 9001:2008 Clause 7.4.1" in ISO 9001:2015?

8.4.2? 7.4.1 in ISO 9001:2008 isn't "supplier Control" as far as I'm aware. It's Purchasing Process and has some aspects of supplier control in it.

What is your specific question? The requirements haven't changed significantly, only the terminology.

    I don't have a copy if ISO 9001.2008 so I can't read the requirements for 9001.2008 Clause 7.4.1.

All I wanted to know was, is there anything ISO 9001.2015 that is related to ISO 9001.2008 Clause 7.4.1

Geeze, he's just looking for a map from the old standard to the new. I can't find my old map. But search around, you'll find something. The content didn't really change, just the numbering.

I made a summary of the changes related to external providers by comparing the 2015 version with the 2008. Let me share it to you guys.

In ISO 9001:2008 sub-clause 7.4.1, it was required to keep records of the criteria for selection, evaluation and re-evaluation of the suppliers.
In ISO 9001:2015, there is now an explicit requirement to ensure monitoring and measurement activities are undertaken at appropriate points.
The organisation is required to record not only the criteria, but also the results of these activities, including performance and monitoring. This has many implications for you if you haven’t previously maintained records of the results of supplier performance activities.
