Cpk on Hardness

    Is it possible to get a Cpk above 1.67 when your spec is only 58 - 62 HRC????? If so how?

    Highly unlikely. You would have to be on target with a standard deviation around 0.3. This means almost all measurements would have to be 60, with only a few measuring 59 and 61 and almost none measuring 58 or 62.

    Measurement error alone would make this difficult, let alone within material variation.
