    Good Afternoon All,

I hope you are keeping safe.

We have already reflected in our risk register and mitigation/contingency plans what could happen to the business due to the CV, but I was wondering if the Scope of QMS document should be amended to reflect the fact that we have temporarily adopted working from home as we are all working remotely at the moment.

    What are your thoughts?

I am looking forward to receiving your view on this.

    Many thanks

    Marianna

    Welcome!

A risk register isn't really what is required by ISO 9001. Your organization has adopted a more sophisticated approach to handle risks and opportunities (not a solution) and, as a result, have to feed the monster, by answering questions like this. If you take a risk based approach, what does working from home represent? What does your organization do? For most of us, sitting at a desk in an office or sitting at home at the kitchen table means nothing when it comes to getting our work done.

Hi Andy, thanks for taking the time to reply. My question though is not about the risk register. I am asking if you would temporarily add on your Scope document that the operations are carried out in a place that is physically different from the office.

Hi John, thanks for your reply. My question is not about risk and contingency: " was wondering if the Scope of QMS document should be amended to reflect the fact that we have temporarily adopted working from home as we are all working remotely at the moment."

    I hope is clearer now

    thanks

Good day @Marianna and thanks for the clarification.

    The answer is "no".

Your QMS scope simply identifies what the QMS is applicable to. The scope may identify...
    - WHAT your organization does (products, services, market sector, etc..etc...) , for ...
    - WHOm your organization provides to/services (health care providers, librarians and their staff, commercial kitchens, etc..etc..)

It is unlikely that any event other than an actual change to your company's business model/products/services, would impact your scope.

    Hope this helps.

    Be well.

Do you mean the scope of the QMS? Without knowing what you do, we can't answer. Is your product being made at home by anyone?
