Die cleaning - Forming

    Not really quality related but we have an issue of our forming dies . It looks like ink build up / green colour ink transfer (even though the ink is black ). The issue is if we strip or clean it can give us graphic position issues . So really looking for insight into two issues noted below .

    1- What is the green substance transferring from tile to forming die .
    2- Are the any solutions that can remove with out using diamond paste or stripping down .

    Russel: Need some more information on your process. What is it that you are forming? What is the material that you are forming? Where does the ink come from?

    Ink - Rear of the tile .
    Printed sheet material , proll HTR inks , UV cured / coated material.
    Forming foils for injection moulding process.

    I'd try a carbon solvent, something for engine parts/ spark plugs etc. I think its probably a thin coating of decomposed ink/carbon. The green hue is probably due to the deposit being very thin.

    Thanks for the reply , will give it a bash .We are also going to try an ultra sonic bath as it is non contact .
