    Hi All,

Can someone please help me. What are the requirements from AIAG for the process flow to contain? I don't want to put more detail in than what is needed. But on the other hand i don't want to miss anything.

    Thanks,

    Dan

A good resource would be to use the AIAG APQP manual. They have a checklist to reference to ensure you have captured all of the requirements for a PFD. But here are the 7 requirements for a process flow diagram according to AIAG:

1-Illustrate all processes from Receiving and Shipping
    2-Was DFMEA used, if available?
3-Is the flow chart tied to product and process checks in the control plan and PFMEA?
4-Does flow chart describe how the product will move? (i.e. roller conveyor, slide containers, etc.)
5-Has the pull system/optimization been considered for this process?
6-Have provisions been made to identify and inspect reworked product before being used?
7-Are material controls for movement and staging of product including appropriate identification properly defined and implemented? The controls should address incoming supplier product as well as subcontracted processes.

    Hi Dan:

If you describe a Process, I'm not sure how you can do this. How do you think you'd provide "more detail than needed". Needed by ?

    Good day @Daniel Attwater ;
    Be selfish.
Define the process flow with the detail needed to serve your organization...(no more).

Which way points have controls applied, which are needed to maintain output quality? Those would be good points to start with.

    Remember...
The process flow will begat the PFMEA. The PFMEA will begat the Control Plan. The Control Plan will begat the point of work "documents" (controls).

    Hope this helps.
    Be well.
