    Does anyone know of any analysis of software solutions (apps or SaaS) to help a company develop their QMS? There are a whole bunch out there and many claim to have helped organizations become "certified" (a low bar, these days) but I'm looking for a "side-by-side" comparison test/review. How does "X', "Y" and "Z" compare with, let's say, Managing an Internal Audit programme?

    Anyone?

    What do you mean by "develop their QMS"?
    Not sure how software can replace common sense or business sense...but you already know that so I'm guessing that's not what you're asking...

    Right, that's not what I'm asking. Yes, many organizations have parts of ISO 9001 in place - I wouldn't call it "common sense" - but clearly don't do some critical requirements. Then there's the way it all fits together. So, yes, organizations do need help in "developing their QMS".

    I've seen (and built) software to track and document the development of a QMS...but never one that participates or guides said development.
    I'm guessing you've seen many of the same (Access, Wiki, etc.)

    There must be hundreds of them available, hence my question.

    It sounds like you're trying to create a "compare products" table, but instead of products, it's software packages that claim to support QMS development/implementation/sustainability. No, I haven't seen one, and I'm actually more curious what the comparison variables would be. I presume things like:
    • Maintains training records;
    • Enables internal audit schedules and results;
    • Maintains management review records;
    • etc.

    Exactly so, Roxane! You have hit the proverbial nail on the head. I did turn up one such comparison, but it was woefully outdated.

    In a previous life, I used MasterControl that consisted of several different modules. (Training, Change Control, Corrective Actions, etc.) This was a very intuitive system, but required a lot of validation prior to using each module.
