We are currently changing ownership and the new owner wanted to put the IATF certified logo on our website but was told we could not do that. is that correct or is there something that has to be done like register and pay fees?

Good day @S1D3K1CK and welcome to the forum.
Your new owner is being told correctly. You can link to or display your certificate and/or you can make mention of your IATF certification status, however, the use of the IATF logo is restricted per 3.1 in of Rules 5th edition (note: the "rules" is information/document for your Certification Body. You and your organization may not be familiar with or possess that set of documentation. It is typical for certified organizations not to possess a copy of the Rules 5th edition.)

    Hope this helps.
    Be well.

@John C. Abnet is on point. In fact, your Certification Body should provide you with the precise details of the use of "Certification" symbols. I'd get in contact with them. FWIW they can audit your use of the logos and certificates and if incorrect to the rules, may write non-conformities against those requirements.

As written you can not use the IATF-logo on your website.

But you can ask your CB of they have Certificate-logos. Many CB:s have there own CB company-logo and the text IATF 16949. These can be displayed on your website.

What we ended up doing is adding a link to the IATF cert verification on the iatf-customerportal.org website and displayed our current cert number. We will update our cert number after every surveillance and recertification audits (being that if we pass the audits).
