Where did your company put its Code of Conduct if you are ISO 9001:2015 if you did not document a Quality Manual?

As a distributor we have excluded ourselves from 8.3.3 Design and Development inputs. But the standard does mention in part d "codes of practice"

The only other mention of a Code of Conduct is in ISO 10001.

Perhaps I should bring back my Quality Manual as it seems the best fit for our Company. Does anyone have some pros and cons to consider?

Terry - welcome. Interesting question. I've not seen anything about "codes of practice" in any "part d" in my copy...

8.3.3 Design and Development inputs talks about
    Functional requirements
    Statutory and regulatory requirements
    Standards and Codes of Practice

I thought maybe someone may be able to confirm using that section for their Code of Conduct, but was really open to hearing from people who used the QM also. As stated above, we didn't choose to make a Quality Manual and we excluded ourselves from 8.3.3 so I have about the same problem either way.

Those are to do with products - codes of practice isn't the same as codes of conduct. Codes of practice (standards) are like using wiring color conventions (country specific) when designing a product for the consumer market. That doesn't go in a quality manual.

A code of conduct is about personnel behaviors, typically.

Here's another example of "codes of practice":

I've just finished auditing our country's aviation authority and have audited them against the International Civil Aviation Organization's (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) as input for aerodrome and air navigation development process.

Terry, It seems you are following the standard, line by line
Any person with some experience and knowledge would not interpret it as you did it.
Are you designing and implementing the system by yourself or you are supported by someone with experience?

I was hired to do Operations, but also handle IT and Quality for fun. I am just trying to keep the ship afloat until a new Quality Manager is put in place.
