Are there any acceptable exemptions for who should be listed in the register of external providers?

    1. Does companies that provides packing tape, foam, plastic bags, cardboard boxes, equipment repair services, etc. need to be listed.
    2. While a company that simply provides 8.5 X 11 paper, coffee & filters, paper towels, etc. not need to be listed.

    Welcome!

What are you making? The answer to 1. is "probably not, since they don't impact product quality"...

Our internal procedure states that companies like what you listed are categorized as general suppliers and are not maintained on our register. Our auditor said that as long as we document who is and who isn't listed, along with why, then we are okay to not have everyone listed.

Welcome Briana! It may be true, in general terms (although I'd suggest caution taking what any auditor states - they are NOT supposed to make such suggestions) we still have not heard from this OP what they do. "Equipment repair services" might seem to be innocuous but can be significant. So can packaging materials. Hence my question.

It is true that coffee, paper towels etc doesn't need listing. Other types of suppliers CAN have an affect on product quality, for AS9100D compliance purposes.
