    Greetings,

Upon researching the internet, I found that the date for AS9100:2016 to come out was end of April 2016. Well, I did not see any announcements so I emailed SAE and they have giving out a new date of...fall of this year. Plus or minus a quarter? So much for planning.

    Hello all,
Rather than starting a new thread, I thought I'd post my question about SAE's 2016 publications here.

Does anyone know if there are any differences between SAE's AS9100 Rev. D standard (which was published in 2016-09) and BSI's EN 9100:2018 standard (which seems to be more recent)?

A quick Google search turned up this:
    People also ask

Is En 9100 the same as AS9100?

The new standardized document, called 9100, was still based on ISO 9001:1994(E), although it was published separately by each country's aerospace association or standards body (AS9100 in the U.S). ... It was released as AS9100 to the international aerospace industry at the same time as the new version of ISO 9001.

    Hi Andy,
Cheers for the reply. My organisation is booked for a stage 1 BSI ISO9100 audit and they sent us pre audit questionnaire and it refered to EN 9100:2018 standard; which made us unsure whether we were looking at the right standard.

I also asked the BSI auditor and he said the sames as you. It kind of made sense because the Americans have ANSI standards so theirs is AS whilst we have EN 9100:2018 in the UK.

Yes, this whole global vs local standards throws people off. A "BS" is a British Standard, an "EN" is a Euro Norm, and a US standard can be "ANSI", "ASTM", "ASME" etc. I wish someone would standardize standards!

...hey @Andy Nichols , you Brits are the ones that actually titled all your standards "BS". Just say'n....;)
