I love movies. Old and new. Comedy, westerns. Everything but horror (I am just a big wimp).

So, any movies you've seen lately you would recommend?

Any rentals you would recommend to stay away from??

    Deadpool.

Straight up awesome. But very crude and crass. Not recommended for kids at all.

Dame Maggie Smith – brilliant. Very British and funny, but with a touch of the tragic. Don’t know if it has been released in the US though.

Absolutely!! That was the funniest movie I've seen in a long time.

    But categorically not for kids.

Watched "Creed" with Sylvester Stallone. Gotta say.... He showed some acting in the movie.

A decent flick; entertaining. It's well worth a rental.

We watched Creed a couple of weeks ago. While I long ago got over that whole Rocky dynasty (I quit after III), I thought this was a very good movie. In fact, it may be the best Rocky movie.

This may need to go into the Controversial Topics forum. What did you think of Batman vs. Superman?

I think there were three types of people that went to see this, and which category describes them determined whether they liked it.
Type 1: Die hard DC comic fan - Absolutely hated film because it strayed from the comics
Type 2: Likes superhero films, but didn't read the comics on which they are based - Enjoyed film as good entertainment
Type 3: Hates Ben Affleck in whatever film he's in - Would hate film no matter what

Which type are you? I'm Type 2.

Fourth type - Thinks comics belong in magazines.

Yes, but they make a lot more money on film.

And this type would only watch the film if dragged along by someone else. That would be me. I haven't seen it yet.

My husband would be the type 2 that will eventually get me to watch it.

I am type 2. My son is type 1. I am amazed at how much DC/Marvel knowledge he has.

I just can't bring myself to go see a movie where the "good guys" are fighting each other! :D
