    The international version is published. The ANSI is not available yet, not 'til October. Any difference in the two?

    I'd guess that since it's ANSI/ASQ Q9001 and the spellings of certain words are different, then the whole printing/publication thing may take a while...Who knows?

    Crusader, if you would like to get the ISO standard now, without waiting for the American version, you can. From a technical content standpoint, there can be NO difference between the ISO document and it's equivalent national standards.

    I just went through a day of training on the new issue, and we have begun the Gap Analysis.

    You can definitely purchase one, but there are copy-right laws and what not - so sharing it could get people in trouble.

    Since most of us have the FDIS version, are there significant differences between the FDIS and the International Standard version? Hope you can share.

    Actually, the training was based on the FDIS, but there the differences are supposed to be insignificant.

    Salamat (Thanks) Claes. I suppose the changes would be like from the FDIS of the 2008 to the ISO 9001:2008 edition. Where the notable insignificant differences include:
    • removing the parenthesis of "where applicable" of 4.1e from the FDIS;
    • rephrasing of the definition of "outsourced process" on NOTE 2 of 4.1;
    • removing the word "the" from the FDIS 4.2.1 NOTE 2 letter a) "the size of the organization and type of activities";
    • removing the comma from the statement in FDIS 4.2.2a "...and justification for, any exclusions";
    • replacing the word "improve" of the FDIS 5.1 to "improving";
    • replacing the word "can" of the FDIS 7.1 NOTE 2 statement by "may"

    Nikki is correct. The official version is now available at ANSI's Standards Store.
