    Hi
I am completely new to the QMS world and I have been tasked with starting ISO9001 from scratch. I work for a small charity with 125 employees and feel this standard would help us with tendering for new services.

My background is HR and it was decided that this would replace investors in people, it has ended up with me. But I am really struggling and came across this forum. I made the decision to go with an auditor and had our stage one audit in Sept. I am now tasked with writing a manual using their template. Which seems to conflict with some of the recent threads that suggest a manual isn't mandatory for 2015. As we have already paid 2/3rds of our fee, I have to continue with writing the manual.

I am looking for some tips and advice from anyone, it is all new to me and I am struggling to understand exactly what I have to do and to get motivated. thanks in advance.

You said you had a stage one without a manual and now you need to write one? Sounds like you hired a consultant to walk you through the process, not an auditor.

While you don't need a manual per se, you do need some documentation. I thimk you need to basic things. A flow chart of your processes and a cross reference where you handle the applicable clauses. A lot of work but really helps. Then you can figure out what procedures you want to document.

You mentioned Investors in People. Are you in the UK?

You might want to check in with my good friend, Shaun Sayers, who runs "Capable People" (I believe he's in the north east of the UK) He's a super resource.
This is the worrying part. If the outcome of your stage 1 was this, then I'd need to know (and publicly isn't a good place) who the CB is and if it's UAKS accredited, for starters...
