    Good day all;
    I would like to start a general conversation regarding the following verbiage...

    "If the scope of the second-party audit is to assess the supplier's quality management system, then the approach shall be consistent with the automotive process approach"

    More specifically, let's discuss the term "...automotive process approach".

    Most specifically, let's discuss the qualifying term "...automotive..."

    Be well

    The automotive terms is fairly well defined in the rules. The "process approach" as yet to be determined IMHO. People talk about it, but, in my experience, few have a clue...

    That's just aitomotive thinking they are special. Is there really such a thing as the automotive process approach? And it's different from the process approach how? Don't think so.

    Well, given that in the (post) QS-9000 Audit world, auditors were walking around auditing "elements" in isolation of everything else, it's understandable, isn't it? Sadly the deployment of "Turtle" diagrams as an auditing tool hasn't improved much, IMHO...
