    Hello there,

Do you heard something about RPN Alternatives (for example Sev*Occ; Sev+Det; Sev&Occ&Det)?

    Thank You for feedback

There is a thread on a topic called Risk Limiting Method that includes an attached article.

Sev*Occ is called Criticality. It is usually used to prioritize the line items for risk mitigation as follows:
    Priority 1 - Severity ratings of 9 or 10.
    Priority 2 - Criticality ratings: Severity ratings of 5 - 8 AND Occurrence ratings > 3.
Priority 3 - Largest RPNs after rank ordering

You can also take look at my paper entitled FMEA and RPN in the "Practical QUlity Engineering" section of the Resources area.
Remember that just because something is popular doesn't' mean it's right...
